In this subject, students participate in an largely applied learning approach to Victorian Curriculum Mathematics, targeting the application of everyday and workplace maths skills.
Content/Skills
Foundation Maths builds students’ skills regarding the value of numbers, negative numbers, multiplication, ratios, fractions, wages, invoices and
calculating percentages, measurement/angles, statistics and time. Students learn about:
▶ Managing money at home
▶ Dealing with money in a small business
▶ Measurement: designing a house
▶ Statistics: Excel spreadsheets
